SFCE Learning

Content Rights and Third-Party Content

Last updated: May 8, 2026

This document explains what content is included in the SFCE Learning app, what content is linked from external sources, and how third-party rights are handled.

This document is provided for transparency and is not legal advice.

Summary

SFCE Learning is an independent study tool for developers preparing for the Symfony certification exam.

The app has the necessary rights to the content it includes because:

  • The study guide structure, topic organization, progress experience, and quiz database are original SFCE Learning content or are used under the applicable project license.
  • The guide includes curated links to external Symfony documentation and related technical resources instead of republishing those external pages inside the app.
  • Symfony documentation is published under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported License.
  • Symfony source code is published under the MIT License.
  • The app uses the word "Symfony" descriptively to identify the framework, documentation, and certification topic it helps users study.
  • SFCE Learning is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to Symfony SAS or SensioLabs.

Study Guide Content

The study guide is available without the quiz unlock. It organizes Symfony certification preparation into Symfony versions, topics, chapters, and reference links.

The guide is intended to help users navigate public documentation and track their learning progress. It does not claim ownership of Symfony, PHP, public technical facts, official documentation, or general programming concepts.

The selection, organization, metadata, user experience, and compiled guide structure are part of SFCE Learning's authored product, except where a source repository or third-party license states otherwise.

External Documentation Links

SFCE Learning includes curated reference links to external documentation and technical resources. These links open in an in-app browser or in the user's system browser.

The app does not copy or republish the full Symfony documentation pages as app content. External websites remain operated by their respective owners and are governed by their own licenses, terms, and privacy practices.

For Symfony documentation, Symfony states that the documentation is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-SA 3.0). That license permits sharing and adaptation under its attribution and share-alike conditions.

Symfony Code and Documentation Licenses

Symfony publishes licensing information for its main materials:

  • Symfony documentation: Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported.
  • Symfony source code: MIT License.
  • Symfony website content: generally Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported unless stated otherwise.
  • Symfony trademarks and logos: governed by Symfony's Trademark and Logo Policy.

Symfony Trademarks

"Symfony" is a trademark of Symfony SAS. SFCE Learning uses the name "Symfony" only to describe the framework, documentation, and certification subject that the app helps users study.

SFCE Learning does not present itself as an official Symfony product, official Symfony certification provider, official Symfony training provider, or product endorsed by Symfony SAS or SensioLabs.

SFCE Learning does not use Symfony logos unless separate written permission has been obtained from the appropriate rights holder.

Symfony's trademark policy is published here: https://symfony.com/trademark

Quiz Content

The Knowledge Quiz is the only part of the app placed behind an in-app purchase.

Quiz questions, answer options, explanations, and related quiz material are original study content authored for SFCE Learning. They are provided for personal study use inside the app.

Users may not copy, scrape, reproduce, republish, redistribute, sell, or use the quiz question and answer database to create another product or dataset without written permission from the developer.

This restriction does not claim ownership of Symfony, PHP, public technical facts, official documentation, or general programming concepts. Some simple questions and answers may naturally resemble common technical explanations or publicly known facts. The restriction applies to the authored wording, selection, structure, and quiz database as a compiled product.

App Store Connect Content Rights

For App Store Connect's "Content Rights" question, SFCE Learning can answer:

"Yes, this app has the necessary rights to its third-party content."

The basis for that answer is:

  • Third-party documentation is primarily referenced through external links, not copied wholesale into the app.
  • Symfony documentation is publicly licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0 for sharing and adaptation under license conditions.
  • Symfony code is publicly licensed under the MIT License.
  • The app's paid quiz database is original SFCE Learning content.
  • Symfony trademark use in the app metadata is descriptive and accompanied by a non-affiliation disclaimer.

Non-Affiliation Statement

SFCE Learning is an independent study tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to Symfony SAS, SensioLabs, or the official Symfony Certification program.

Symfony is a trademark of Symfony SAS. Other names, trademarks, and logos belong to their respective owners.
