SFCE Learning app ("the app", "we", "us") is a native study guide for the Symfony Framework Certification Exam. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app uses, where it is stored, and how privacy-related Apple services are used.

SFCE Learning app is designed to work offline for its core study content. The app does not require an account with us, does not use advertising, does not use analytics SDKs, and does not track you across apps or websites.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, sell, rent, or share personal information for advertising or tracking.

SFCE Learning app does not collect:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or address
  • Precise or coarse location
  • Contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or health data
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Analytics events or telemetry
  • Crash reports sent to our own servers
  • Browsing history from the in-app browser

The app does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or social tracking SDKs.

Study Progress

SFCE Learning app stores your study progress so the app can show completed references, progress indicators, and your last-read location.

This information may include:

  • Symfony version selected for study progress
  • Completed reference identifiers
  • Completion timestamps stored locally by the app
  • Last-read topic and chapter identifiers

This data is stored on your device using Apple system storage technologies such as SwiftData and UserDefaults. It is used only to provide app functionality.

iCloud Sync

If iCloud is available for your Apple Account and enabled on your device, SFCE Learning app syncs completed reference identifiers through Apple's iCloud key-value storage so your progress can appear on your other Apple devices.

The synced data is limited to completion state by Symfony version and reference identifier. SFCE Learning app does not sync your name, email address, or other contact information.

iCloud sync is provided by Apple. We do not operate a server for this data and do not have access to the contents of your iCloud account. You can manage iCloud access for apps in your device system settings.

Calendar Integration

SFCE Learning app can create study sessions in your calendar when you choose the "Add to Calendar" action.

When you use this feature, the app asks for calendar permission through Apple's system permission prompt. The app requests write-only calendar access where supported. Calendar events created by SFCE Learning app may include:

  • A study title based on the selected chapter or reference
  • A suggested start and end time
  • Reference links or notes when relevant

SFCE Learning app uses calendar access only to create the events you request. The app does not upload your calendar data to us.

Reminders Integration

SFCE Learning app can create study reminders when you choose the "Add Reminder" action.

When you use this feature, the app asks for reminders permission through Apple's system permission prompt. Reminders created by SFCE Learning app may include:

  • A study reminder title based on the selected chapter or reference
  • Notes or reference links when relevant
  • A due date if you choose one in the reminder editor

SFCE Learning app uses reminders access only to create reminders you request. The app does not upload your reminders data to us.

In-App Browser and External Reference Links

SFCE Learning app includes reference links to external documentation and websites. When you open a reference link, the page may open in an in-app browser or in your system browser.

External websites are not operated by SFCE Learning app. Those websites may receive standard web request information, such as your IP address, browser information, cookies, or other data depending on their own privacy practices. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.

SFCE Learning app does not collect or store your in-app browsing history.

Purchases

If the app offers a purchase, such as a quiz unlock, the purchase flow is handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit.

SFCE Learning app may check Apple-provided purchase entitlement status to unlock purchased functionality. We do not receive or store your payment card details or App Store payment information.

Apple's handling of purchase, billing, and Apple Account information is governed by Apple's own privacy policy and App Store terms.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

Data may be processed by Apple services when you use Apple platform features such as iCloud, Calendar, Reminders, StoreKit, SafariServices, WebKit, or the App Store. These services are provided by Apple and are subject to Apple's privacy practices.

Data Retention and Deletion

Study progress remains on your device unless you delete it, uninstall the app, or remove the app's data through system settings.

iCloud-synced progress remains in your iCloud account according to Apple's iCloud behavior and your iCloud settings. You can manage iCloud data and app access in system settings.

Calendar events and reminders created by SFCE Learning app remain in your Calendar or Reminders app until you edit or delete them.

Children's Privacy

SFCE Learning app is a professional study tool for developers preparing for a certification exam. The app is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the app's privacy practices change. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
